Palcoyo Mountain is a group of three vibrantly colored mountains located in Cusco, Peru, and is a less challenging alternative to the famous Seven Colors Mountain (Vinicunca).
We shall pick you up from your hotel around 4.30 a.m. and soon afterwards will drive out of Cusco towards the south in one of our tourist vans.
On route you will be able to see some of the local animals and also captivating landscapes. After about 2 hours we shall stop in the community of Cusipata at a cozy restaurant for a delicious breakfast which will help build up our energy levels for the day.
Following breakfast, we shall continue our journey towards Combapata, which we shall reach after about half an hour. We shall then head along a road leading to the Palcoyo mountain chain. This requires about 2 hours of travelling but on route we will make a stop at the colonial bridge at Checacupe, which is a perfect place to admire and contemplate the historical architecture.
Upon arrival at the village of Palcoyo we shall begin a moderate level walk of about one hour. We shall be walking at altitudes of above 4,600m (15,091 ft) through impressive countryside towards the colored mountains of Palcoyo. During the walk you will be able to contemplate the different mountain chains and, if you wish, can take a side track in order to explore at your own leisure an enigmatic stone forest.
Following our visit to the colored peaks of Palcoyo we shall return along the same path to our transport and will then begin the return journey towards Cusco. Once more we shall stop on route at the restaurant to enjoy an exquisite Andean lunch. Our tour will end at our dropping off point in the Regocijo plaza, situated in the heart of Cusco and close to your hotel.
