Inka Jungle Biking and Rafting to Machupicchu

4 Days

Tour description

The "Inca Jungle Trail" is an adventure tour to Machu Picchu that combines activities like mountain biking, white-water rafting, and zip-lining with hiking. It's an alternative to the classic Inca Trail that offers a high-adrenaline, multi-sport experience through diverse landscapes, from high-altitude passes down into the tropical forest.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Biking and Rafting

Pick up from the hostel from 7:00 am. to 7:30 am and heading in our transport towards the Sacred Valley while we appreciate the beautiful sceneries and nature. At approximately 10:30 am we reach Abra Malaga (4350m), the starting point of our tour on bicycle. We go down towards the high forest, passing small villages, orchards and rivers. During the descent by bike through the valley we will have support of our support vehicle which is attached until the end of the route in case of emergency. At around 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm we arrive at Santa Maria.

In the afternoon after lunch, we will depart in our private transport to go to Chaullay, at 7 minutes from the town of Santa Maria. At the starting point of the river we provide you with the river equipment (windbreakers, life jackets and helmets) and you will receive the safety briefing. Then we enter the raft for our adventure in the Vilcanota River, or lower Urubamba River for about 2 hours, running rapids class II, III and IV. You don`t need experience in rafting to join us in this river, on a section where you not only will enjoy the sport from inside the boat, but you`ll also be able to enjoy the warm waters of the river with great confidence. On the way we see the diversity of flora and fauna of the high forest zone. (Lunch, diner, overnight)

DAY 2: Trekking

Today we start walking after breakfast from the town of Santa Teresa to the Hidroelectrica train station and from there to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will arrive in the afternoon.

Every day is a discovery, accompanied by our professional guides who will give us personal attention and a unique experience throughout the journey. This day we will experience splendid drops of water from the glaciers and see also coca and coffee plantations of the local people.

In the afternoon we arrive at the Machu Picchu town, Aguas Calientes where we spend our last night at the foot of the great Inca Citadel Machu Picchu. Accommodation in a hostel.

DAY 4: Machu Picchu – Cusco

Early in the morning, at 4:00 am we wake up and at 4:30 am we start the climb to the archeological site of Machu Picchu. We climb a path through the jungle, taking the opportunity to see the sunrise. After registering at the control of the park we continue our way to the Inti Punko (bridge of the sun) where we will start the two hour guided tour. After this you have free time to discover more of Machu Picchu, for example the Sun Gate, Inca Bridge and the Huayna Picchu Mountain.
